And now, a sweet interlude from Paul Sands, who sent us "a little ditty I wrote for my daughter while making apple pie":

slice and dice
add sugar and spice
then hubble bubble
uh-oh here comes trouble
must knead and roll
and empty the bowl
now butter that dish
and make a wish
give your fingers a lick
but make it quick
hand mould your base
and in pastry encase
throw in the oven
then...oh…
hot
hot
mmmmm such heaven"
